Everybody has an opinion as to which boat they like the best. Here at Dumas, the opinion poll winner is the Victory Tug. There is a number of reasons this charming little ship has captured the hearts of so many modelers. At 28 inches long, it is perfect for those of us with smaller working areas. The quality materials, such as the bass wood planking, and stainless steel rails lead to an excellent building result. Basically, everybody loves tug boats, and the Victory Tug with all of her natural wood and scruffy good looks is an exceptional find. The Dumas model of the Victory Tug provides all the high quality materials necessary to complete the kit for a static model. We have even included the drive line hardware plus a three-blade propeller. If you do decide to radio control the Victory Tug, all you need is a #2004 6V motor, a #2022 6V speed control, a 6V NiCad battery pack, and a 2 channel radio to get her on the water. Realizing that plank on frame construction is not for everyone, we have a fiberglass hull and deck available for the Victory Tug. Kit #1228 is a hand laid up fiberglass hull and deck with a white gel coat finish that comes complete with instructions on how to integrate the construction of the fiberglass hull with the wood kit. This is perfect for those modelers who like the detailed appearance of scale ships, but would like to spend less time building and more time running. Please note that in order to build a fiberglass Victory Tug, you need both kit numbers #1225 and #1228 to complete the model.
